Who we are

My name is Darrin Guiter. After retiring as a firefighter with the New York City Fire Department in 2020, I left my home in Brooklyn NY to my wife’s hometown, Georgetown Texas. We were married in Georgetown in 2004 and I knew the first time I came to visit that this would someday be my home.

We now have the privilege of being caregivers to my wife’s parents. As we were navigating the confusing world of Medicare insurance on their behalf, we realized that we needed help. My wife contacted her close friend that works as a Medicare agent here in Georgetown. The help she gave to my in-laws was priceless. This piqued my interest in insurance. I became a licensed agent in the state of Texas and decided to specialize in Medicare and Marketplace plans. I chose to work as an independent agent so that I could offer my clients more options and better help them find a plan that is right for them.

The TEAK in TEAK insurance is an acronym for values that are important to me as a good insurance agent. Trust, Empathy, Accessibility, and Knowledge. These are qualities that do not exist when a call center contacts seniors and attempts to switch them to any plan except the one they are currently on. I will always put your needs first in finding carriers and plans.

Using an agent will not cost you any more than signing yourself up for Medicare online. Using a good agent can potentially save you money in the long run by researching and comparing numerous plans from different carriers to find one suited for your needs.
